Peru maintains 'realistic and responsible' economic policy

Lima, Jun. 21 (ANDINA). Peru stays on a "realistic and responsible path," although many thought that this stage would be characterized by speeches, dreams and complaints, said President Alan Garcia.

In his speech at the opening of the "Business Future of the Americas (BFA)" Conference and AACCLA's Midyear Meeting (MYM), President Garcia said his government and the country decided to promote economic growth while creating employment and solving social problems.

"We chose realism and responsibility. That allowed us to promote accelerated, inclusive, decentralized, and stable growth," he noted.

The American Chamber of Commerce of Peru, or AmCham Peru, hosts the “Business Future of the Americas (BFA)” Conference and the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America (AACCLA) Mid Year Meeting (MYM) from June 21 to 23 in Lima, Peru.

Amcham Peru promotes and fosters the free market system, helping to develop trade, investment and exchange between Peru and the United States within a framework of social responsibility, values and business ethics.
