Cusco to host 24th Latin American potato congress
The event organized by the Ministry of Agriculture’s National Institute for Agrarian Innovation (INIA) will stress the conservation and utilization of potato genetic resources. It will also promote the consolidation of a Latin American community of scientists, professionals, entrepreneurs, industrialists and producers, trained and informed on the innovative aspects of cultivation that contribute to a sustainable agriculture and feeding. The congress will deal with technical-scientific knowledge and experiences on productive, commercial, industrial, gastronomic aspects and of genetic diversity; as well as establish strategic alliances and business agreements among the economic agents involved. The XXIV Latin American Association of Potato Congress, initiative of the Latin-American Society of Potato Research, will be held at the Cusco Convention Center.
The Andean city of Cusco, in southeastern Peru, will host the 24th Congress of the Latin American Potato Association from May 23 to 28, an event which will be attended by local and foreign academics, investigators, business people and farmers.
